Obituary
Eldon Shelton
Eldon Shelton, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday August 17, 2026. He was born to Arnold and Edith Shelton in Salem, Oregon.
Eldon was an industrial painter and floor layer and a hardworking man who took pride in what he did. He traveled where the work took him, always willing to work hard and make the most of whatever life put in front of him.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also had the gift of bringing people together through food. He was a great cook and loved to feed others. To Eldon, sharing a meal was another way of showing someone he cared.
He had a positive outlook on life and a way of making people around him feel good. He was fun, spontaneous, and always ready for an adventure. His smile was contagious, and his laughter and personality could light up a room. He had so many stories to share he could have written a book.
Eldon’s love for his family ran deep. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured the time, memories, and moments shared with the people he loved.
Then there was Virginia, his beloved dog. She was always by his side and brought each other special companionship.
And most of all was his everlasting love for his partner, Julie. Their love was a special part of Eldon’s life-a bond built on love, laughter, loyalty, and many memories they created together. She held a place in his heart that will never be replaced.
He was one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his partner Julie Hutzenbuehler, brother John (Brenda), his sisters Kathy Haney, Pat Nix (Bill), Theresa Hopkins (Rocky) and Susie, his sons Eldon Jr., Simon, James and daughter Jamie, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Arnold & Edith and his son Jeremy.
Celebration of Life to come with date and time to be determined.
