Elizabeth “Liz” Hennig, 70, of Onalaska passed away on November 26, 2019 at UW Health University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Liz was born on August 4th, 1949 to Merle and Anne (Daly) Hill in La Crosse, WI.  She was a graduate of Aquinas High School (1967) and went on to earn a certificate in Medical Assisting from Western Wisconsin Technical College.  She had jobs in many different areas: healthcare, retail, and food service.

She had many different interests and was an avid bicyclist when her health was better.  She loved reading, gardening, crafts, and being outside in the sun.  Most of all she loved her family and her 4 legged child, Squeekers the cat.

Survivors include her two children, Chantel Temp and her husband Greg of Holmen, WI, and Jesse Hennig and his wife Susan of Andover, MN; her five grandchildren, Rachael and Olivia Temp of Holmen, WI and Skyler, Madison, and Steven Hennig of Andover, MN; her twin sister Margaret Soller of Gaylord, MI; her brother James Hill of Tomah, WI;  her father Merle Hill of Tomah, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Anne Hill, her stepmother Jayne Nault Hill, her brother Thomas Hill, her sister Catherine Yeager, and her sister Mary Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Friday, December 6, 2019 at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska, WI.  Friends and family may visit from 3pm until time of service.

Liz’s family would like to thank her dear friends John Haese and Sabrina Neidecker for their support and kindness towards her.  She was so grateful to have you in her life.  We’d also like to thank the staff at UW Health University Hospital for their excellent care and compassion during her hospitalization.

Condolences

I served Liz as a driver through the Retired Senior Volunteer program. We had many pleasant conversations. Especially interesting were the stories she told about her father who was in the newspaper business in La Crosse.
