Fred Eli Baumgartner
Fred Eli Baumgartner, 73, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home.
Fred was born on August 17, 1952, in La Crosse, WI. He was the son of the late Fred Eli Baumgartner and Audrey Lorrianne Robinson Baumgartner.
Fred is survived by his wife, Cheryl; her daughters, Brenna (Zach) Karbula; Maisie Tolzmann, and Hannah Tolzmann (Darren); grandchildren, Christian and Henry Karbula; mother-in-law, Patricia Cornwell, father-in-law, James Cornwell. Survivors also include grandchildren, Gabe McCarty (Haley) and Aubrey McCarty (Ben); and their mother, Holly McCarty (Mitch); and their father, Brian McCarty (Jenny). Additionally survived by grandchildren, Aiden and Brenya Riley; and their parents, Todd (Nancy) Riley. Fred is further survived by his siblings; Diane Stoeckly, Dennis (Dorothy) Baumgartner, Ruth Groth (Dave), Gary (Kathy) Baumgartner, Chris (Chuck) Bassett, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents; an infant brother, David, brothers-in-law, James Stoeckly, and Rodney Groth; nephew, Jason Bassett.

A celebration of Fred’s life is planned for May 2, 2026, from 1-3pm at the Mormon Coulee Community Park Shelter.

My brother and I (Teri & Gary Rybold from California) used to visit our family (Kendhammers) in the summers and have fond memories of softball games, firecracker “cowpie” chicken (if you know, you know) and riding ponies.
