Jean M. Mattie, 82, died peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2021.

Born Jean Matson to Francis and Edna Matson on August 30, 1939, she spent her formative and young adult years in Viroqua and Janesville Wisconsin respectively, before settling in La Crosse. There she enjoyed employment at the Chat N Chew Café, St Francis Medical Center, Bethany- Riverside and Onalaska Care Center.

Jean enjoyed the home life activities as a prolific baker, cook and knitter. As a lifelong learner she was an avid reader of magazines, cookbooks and fictional books.

Jean is survived by her husband Jerry Mattie. They were married for 53 years.

She is also survived by her children, Cheryl Krueger, Gary and his wife Robin, Linda Kroack, and Eric and his wife Melanie. Grandchildren included, Carson Mattie, Ashlyn Witt, Leah Witt, Joshua Mattie, Allison Mattie, Grace Mattie and Millie Prince.  She was loved by many extended family, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and various other relatives and friends.

We are forever grateful for her love and kindness she expressed throughout the years and will be deeply missed.
