Jeffrey Alan Johnson, 58, of La Crosse passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, after a difficult battle with lung cancer. Jeff passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Jeff was born on June 21 1964 to Clara (Burch) and George Johnson in La Crosse, WI.

Jeff graduated from Logan High School in 1982 before going to Western Technical College for interior design. After schooling, Jeff worked at International Furniture as a buyer for 25 years. In his spare time, Jeff loved to help his friends and family decorate and paint their homes.

Jeff was known for always hosting the best parties and welcoming newcomers into his home. Whether it was the exotic animals his partner, Nathan, brought home or new friends Jeff was always there with open arms, ready to cook them a meal.

He was loving, helpful, caring, funny, and well-liked by many. He had a passion for gardening, cooking, party planning, grilling out in the backyard, and the color green. No matter what Jeff was doing, you could always find him singing along to whatever his favorite song was at the time.

Jeff is survived by the love of his life, Nathan Turk of La Crosse, WI, his father, George (Pack) Johnson of South Beloit, WI, his brother Todd (Lesa) Johnson of Eitzen MN, his sister Lori (Cory) Francis of Houston MN, his God son Aaron and nephews and nieces Connor, Aaron, Vasa, Alec, Lindsay, Genna, Jacob, Sierra, and Morgan.  Jeff is preceded in death by his mom Clara Johnson, his brother Kevin Johnson, his sister-in-law Tina Myers and all four grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held on March 11, 2023, at Mirage Bar in La Crosse, WI from 2 pm-8 pm. For questions about the memorial or how to serve Jeff’s family please contact his niece, Sierra Myers sierra@sierramyers.com.

Lori and Todd, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I didn’t find out Jeff was sick until two weeks before he passed. I was shocked! I did get a chance to visit him in the hospital the Friday afternoon before he passed. He seemed to be resting comfortably. I’m glad he’s in a better place now. My condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
