Jody Lee Hall lost his short battle with metastatic bone and lung cancer on June 29, 2026. Jody was a very courageous, strong, and brave man. During his battle, not once did he give up hope, faith, or have any negativity. He was the kindest soul you would have been honored to have met; he would have given anyone the shirt off his back. He cared deeply for others-a very selfless, caring, loving, loyal, honest, and generous soul. He told jokes and still cracked jokes till the end, never complaining.

He was born on July 26, 1968, at St. Mary’s in Sparta, Wisconsin, and grew up on the Northside of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Jody was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. His favorite saying was “love you long time.” Jody, we will all love you long time forever. A man of all trades-a mechanic, carpenter and collector of all things. His pure joy was music; he loved his music, going to the park, and fixing things from cars to computers, speakers, etc. He loved spending time with his longtime love and partner, Heather King, and their doh Gus and cat Mickey (whom Jody called Pooh Bear). He also cherished spending time with his mom, Eileen Johnson, bringing her food, enjoying coffee, goofing around with family, and spending time with friends.

Jody never made judgement on anyone; he accepted everyone equally. He knew that was God’s job, and everyone had a special place in his heart. Life wasn’t always easy for Jody, but nothing seemed to let it stop him enjoying his journey. He lived life one day at a time and to its fullest, enjoying whatever the day brought to him. He sure was one of a kind and loved helping anyone out. His grin, his tender heart, and deep voice were infectious.

Jody is preceded in death by his father, David Lee Hall, sister, Penny Marie Hall and numerous grandparents, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his partner, Heather King, mother, Eileen Johnson, sister, Tracy Bjergum, Brothers, Dan Hall and Travis Hall (Tree Hall), niece, Savannah Johnson, nephews, Cody Hall, Nashoba Wilson, and Michael Bjergum, and lots of special friends and family.
