Dear RaeAnn, Lori, Brad, and family,
We were so saddened to hear about the loss of our cousin John. We will always think of him as Meatball. Apparently, due to his spaghetti lunches when he was in high school, his friends thought it was fitting to call him Meatball. They probably had no idea the nickname would stick with us cousins! John was also the only person we know, who could wiggle his ears, when encouraged to do so. So funny! Our dear cousin now joins Krissy, Uncle Marc and Helene, Grandma and Daddy Roy, and the rest of the much loved Lyga family members in Heaven.
    Love and hugs,
    Mike and Mary

This is Greg Helgeson, John’s cousin. My wife Carolyn and I were deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing. I have great memories of John from our Lyga family gatherings, at Lyga’s Store and through the time when you lived next to my childhood home. John always had a great wit about him. It was not long ago that he told me the funny story about how he got the nickname Meatball. I was blessed to have known John and to be his cousin. We pray that God will give you peace and strength as you cherish the great memories of John, and that you will find comfort in the Lord’s promise that he has taken John to a special place and reunited him with Krissy.
    Greg and Carolyn Helgeson
