My heart dropped when I learned of John’s passing. Although we saw each other so rarely, we were connected. Rev. Dick Truitt baptized us in a double ceremony at OUMC. I watched him go through pain and healing after the HS accident as a candy striper and friend. He kept me safe from a drunken driver at Cornfest. He always had a smile and the best hugs those rare times we bumped in to each other. John had heart of gold and my heart hurts for all of us who loved him. Rest now, John….no more pain. ❤

John, you’ve been heavy on my mind for the past few days. I wanted to call to see how your dad was. You took such extraordinary care of him, feeding him and talking to him. Now I know why you were so much on my mind. I wish I could have told you how magnificent you are. How kind you’ve been all your life. How much your life matters. And now, I wish I could tell you how much you’ll be missed. Godspeed.

John was such a caring son to his mother & father, as they aged. He visited both of them often. He loved them deeply.
I send my sympathy to Carol, Jim, Bill, David and families. It was a long time ago that we lived along a dirt lane (Green Bay Street) and
what a great place it was to grow up!
