Judith Ann Harris Hoff

July 10, 1946 – November 1, 2026

Judith Ann Harris Hoff passed away on November 1, 2026, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She was born on July 10, 1946, in Compton, California, to Gordon Harris and Alta Marie Schwartz. She was the oldest of six children: Randy, Richard, Steven, Brian, and Sherree.

Judith married Duane Arthur Hoff on September 7, 1968. Together they raised two sons, Jonathon (Jennifer) and Christopher (Stephanie), and were blessed with four grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Grant, and Ava. Her greatest joy was her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow and become their own people.

Judith graduated from Aquinas High School and later the St. Francis School of Radiography eventually earning her bachelor’s degree. She spent much of her career as an instructor at Western Technical College, where she taught, encouraged, and mentored countless students. She was proud of her work and the many people she helped along the way.

As a mother, she was firm but image0.jpegalways loving and nurturing. She believed in putting others first and rarely thought of her own needs before those of her family and friends. She was respected by so many, not just for what she did, but for who she was. She had a way of making people feel welcome, and she almost always did it with a smile.

In her free time, Judith enjoyed scrapbooking, traveling, and playing board games with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and being part of their lives.

Judith leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who loved her dearly, and countless former students and friends whose lives she touched. She will be remembered for her kindness, her selflessness, her strength, and, of course, her smile. She will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to her Oncologist Dr. Gill Harmon and his wonderful staff for the care delivered, and also the staff from Agrace in providing loving comfort in the end.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026 at Noon at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska.  Father Jim Weighner will officiate.  Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family kindly asks for donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
