Judy Ann Ellefson

Judy Ann Ellefson passed away January 17th, 2024 at Bethany Riverside Transitional Nursing Home.

She was born June 2nd 1937 in Ottuma, Iowa, Wapallow County. Her parents were Edward and Ethel Keefe.
A memorial service will be held at North Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am on February 29th. Pastor Scott Skogen will lead the memorial service.
A luncheon will be served following the service.
Judy graduated from Central High School in 1955. She then attended the LaCrosse Teachers College where she earned her degree in education.
Judy taught elementary school at Irving Pertzsch Elementary School for over 20 years. She was known as Mrs Judy Johnson and taught 3rd and 4th grade. She was recognized for her education of her students on the United States Space Program.and was selected by NASA to attend the launching of a space shuttle. Judy was always dressed professionally and she sincerely cared for her students.
She married Paul A Johnson and later Rodney Ellefson. Judy and Rod enjoyed going on bus trips throughout the United States. Rod and Judy’s friends wrote about how much fun Rod and Judy were at celebrations.
Judy enjoyed getting together with her fellow teachers to reminisce about their teaching experiences and positive memories they created. Judy.enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers at Maggies and at her home on Quincy Street in Onalaska.
Judy was a member of North Presbyterian Church for 22 years. She always enjoyed the visits from Pastor Scott Skogen and members of the church while at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home. Judy would always have positive things to say about the people who cared for her at Bethany Riverside Nursing Home.
Judy is survived by her sister Sue Lunenschloss and her niece Katie (Kevin) Flottmeyer. She loved her 2 great nephews Sam and Eddie.
Rest in peace Judy.
The family requests any memorials be given to North Presbyterian Church.

    My wonderful 4th grade teacher, she would always play the piano before lunch ” k soura soura” what ever will be with be the future is ours to see ” Rest in peace and that’s for being a wonderful role model for children!
