Kathryn “Kay” Wurtzel, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, after a long battle with heart disease.  Kay was born on July 2, 1947, to William and Katherine Bates. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob, and had 58 wonderful years together.

Kay loved doting over her grandchildren, gardening, and watching the many birds outside her window.  She could tell you what every plant and bird that showed up in that garden.   She would always bring chocolate chip cookies to both of her grandsons’ basketball games to share with everyone.

Kay was very proud of her accomplishments of owning a hair salon. She was very gifted as a stylist and enjoyed the interactions with her customers and friends.

Kay was one of eight children, survived by three sisters and one brother. She is also survived by her husband, Bob, and two sons, Bob and Brad, their wives Leann and Lisa, three grandchildren, Zach, Ethan, and Vince and his wife Tosh, and one great grandchild, Allie.  Also, many, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

There will be a memorial for Kay in the coming months.  Please, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bob Wurtzel – 310 Elm Drive, Stoddard WI 54658.  Donations to Kay’s favorite charities will be made.

Mom – you were loved dearly by your family and friends, and you will be greatly missed by many.
