Katie Louise Limberg

June 17, 2022 | 3 comments

Katie Louise Limberg, 28, passed away June 9, 2022 at her current place of residence in Florida.

She was raised in West Salem, WI and gained many friends throughout her  journey. Katie was active in sports all through school, always giving 100 percent and then some.  Katie graduated college from Western Technical College with a Business degree. Katie worked many years with her mother at The Wedding Tree, as well as many other side jobs.  She was very social, liked to keep busy and loved to be with other people.  She had an extreme love for all animals.  She never met an animal she did not like.  Katie shared a special bond with her dad in their shared love of the Seattle Seahawks.

We will all remember Katie as always being positive.  She was able to find the good in everyone.  It was her goal to make everyone laugh.  What we continue to hear repeatedly is that she made a positive impact on everyone she met through showing strength and giving encouragement.  She never gave up on what she wanted, and she finally has found peace.  She struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, but she sure tried her hardest to overcome the demons.

She was survived by her father Todd Limberg (Michelle Goldsmith), her mother Debra Lash-Stangel (Scott Stangel), a sister Kristalee Frank, niece Valerie (God daughter), a brother Cody (Sami Limberg), nephew Brody, step siblings Jevin Stangel and Kaileigh Brugman, and a Grandmother Louise Limberg as well as Nancy and Dan Stangel. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.  She was proceeded in death by a paternal grandfather Dean Limberg, maternal grandparents Gary and Kathy McLees, a Cousin Brady McLees.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska.  Chaplain Jeff Thomson will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

I got to know Katie quite well in 2019 (and her black lab that she said she picked up as a stray and I probably shouldn’t try and pet him.) I remember when she got a job she really wanted and was happy about it except for the fact she could no longer stay up until 2:00 AM and sleep until noon. I remember her catching a BIG fish and her telling us about it. She was ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED about that! I did not know Katie moved to Florida. I thought she was just laying low because of covid. I was VERY SAD to find out this past Wrdnesday that she had passed away. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE AND I HOPE HER FAMILY HANGS IN THERE!

My sincere condolences to the family. I didn’t know Katie personally but I remember her bubbly friendly face and personality from years ago when I purchased many bridesmaid dresses from Debra’s shop and I always loved when she helped me. Another one taken too soon but may she rest in peace. My prayers are with you all!
