Laurie Jean Beranek

Laurie Jean Beranek, 61, of Holmen, WI, passed away peacefully January 25, 2024 in her home.  She was born September 29, 1962 to Bernie and Jean Sobkowiak.  She married William Leonard Beranek January 5, 1980 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska, WI.

She took pride in serving people as a waitress from age 15, working at the Golden Palace, Arctic Springs.  She was a waitress and manager at Pizza Corral in Holmen from 1983 to 2023.  She enjoyed riding Harleys all over Wisconsin, poker runs, cruises and vacations, watching deer and bear at the cabin, pontooning Lake Holcomb with kids and grandkids, casinos and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Bill Jr, Craig, Logan; parents, Bernard, Jean; siblings, Scott, Kelly, Todd, Heidi, Holly; grandkids, Savanna, Navaya, Remington, Lendrick; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Sandra Beranek.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on February 7th, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska.

    Prayers and condolences to the whole family. I worked with Laurie at pizza corral. We always had a blast. Every time I came back to town and ran into her we chatted like we always did. She was kind and funny. R.i.P. you will be sadly missed.

      Difficult to put into words how sorry we are to hear of Laurie’s passing. Our memories go way back to vacations before our marriage and great business trips. Always enjoyed our chats and catching up about our grandchildren. She will be missed, sending the family sympathy and prayers.
