Linda Jean Butke
Linda Jean Butke, 72 of La Crosse, WI, formerly from Billings, Montana died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 6th, 2024. Linda was born February 15, 1952 in Billings, Montana to Jack and Jeanne Butke. The oldest of 7 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Central high school, St. Paul, MN in 1970. Linda worked many jobs but her last and most favorite job was working as a correctional officer at the Yellowstone County jail which she worked for many years but due to her declining health she had to retire. She made some good friendships with her coworkers there.
More than anything Linda loved her family, she loved dogs….especially Oscar, and she loved Christmas and everything about it, she was known as the number #1 elf! Linda, we’re going to miss you so much!
She is survived by her brother and sisters Jacquelyn Gartner Hastings, MN, Trace Rice (Larry) New Braunfels, TX, Frank Butke (Tammy)Reed Point, MT
Michelle Schmitz (Daron) Onalaska, WI, Joy Beer (Dusty) Columbus, MT she is further survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as 2 aunts and uncles.
She was preceeded in death by parents Jack and Jean ne Butke and brother Steven Butke.
We would like to thank Gundersen hospice for all of the wonderful care that was given to Linda. We would also like to thank Benedictine manor, Rachel Keehner and Dr Bassing for the many years of care from all of the departments!
I so enjoyed the talks I had with her, which included a few good laughs, I will miss our visits.
