Margaret is survived by her loving husband Jim, cherished children David (Patty) Uehling, Jeffrey “Mark” (Kristi) Uehling, Sharon (Walter) Bowen, Philip (Debbie) Uehling; step-children Mark (Gloria) Yowell, Gregg (Cindy) Yowell, Amy (Rick) Yowell and Carrie Yowell; siblings Walter (Betty) Gustafson, Esther (Robert) Suter, Oscar (Judy) Gustafson and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents Wictor and Ingrid Gustafson, brother Alfred Gustafson, mother-in-law and father-in-law Grace and Roy Leslie Yowell and step sisters Peggy and Lois.

Margaret spent her childhood and early adult years in Kenora, Ontario before moving to Onalaska in the late 1950’s.  She lovingly raised her four children, enjoyed numerous trips to visit family in Canada and went to work for the Bank of Onalaska for over 20 years prior to retiring.  Margaret’s retirement years were spent travelling with husband Jim, visiting relatives, and spending winters in Tucson, AZ at Wagons West community.  Margaret made many lifelong friends and touched the hearts of everyone she met.  Inheriting her father’s love for gardening, she especially enjoyed flowers.  She loved birdwatching and always looked forward to the bluebirds that returned yearly to her birdhouses.  Margaret also loved knitting, crocheting, playing cards and games and especially looked forward to hosting company and seeing the grandchildren.  Her life exemplified her strong Christian faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She will be deeply missed by all, but we are comforted knowing she is now home in Heaven in the arms of Jesus.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials preferred to: Gunderson Lutheran Hospital or Onalaska Care Center.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

    Dear Jim and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. What a great friend she was to me when I worked at the Bank of Onalaska. I loved seeing both of you at the Memorial Day celebrations at the Onalaska Cemetary. I still have your pottery holder you gave me when I moved to New York. Thank you for all the love you gave her. She deserved every minute of it. What a great lady! God Bless! Love Betty Hoeft Netwal
