Mary Pierstorff

Mary Pierstorff, 74, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a lengthy and exhausting battle with Parkinson’s disease on May 2, 2026.

Born on April 3, 1952, Mary was known for her generous and creative spirit. She found joy in working with flowers in her many gardens, baking Christmas cookies with her children and grandchildren, painting, creating stained glass art, and volunteering as a Girl Scout leader. Her warmth, creativity, and devotion to family touched the lives of all who knew her.

Mary graduated from Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in 1970 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Sioux Falls College. She spent many years serving as an office administrator for the Boy Scouts of America in both La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, before later founding her own graphic design business, Alpharene Designs.

Mary was welcomed into the arms of those who passed before her, including her parents, Marjorie and Donald Cummins; her sister, Barbara; and her granddaughter Shawna

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Lawrence Pierstorff; her children, Joel (Christina) Pierstorff, Diana (Phil) Horman, and Jennifer Pierstorff; brother, Byron (Carol) Cummins, sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Holback, Nancy (Richard) Reeves, Dorothy Hopkins, and Pat (Jerry) Roen, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, unwavering love for her family, and the beauty she brought into the world through both her art and her caring spirit.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason Street Onalaska, visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family during this difficult time.

    Larry… my deepest condolences. Mary was such a sweet lady. Always had a smile… even after delivering bags. It was always a pleasure talking with her when she stopped by the airport.
