Mathew Franklin Lomas age 87, of Gays mills,

passed away peacefully on Jan 24^th 2024 at Vernon Memorial.

After a long battle with cancer.

He was born on May 27^th 1936 to Jule & Hazel Lomas.

Mathew married and later divorced having 5 children,

He then married Myrna Knoble on July 6^th 2001 in Prairie Du Chien Wi.

Matt served in the United States Navy from Jan. of 1955 to July of 1959 traveling and serving in Japan.

Mathew loved being outside as much as possible, from hunting never missing a season and fishing.

With his loving wife Myrna, they gardened all the time and he took pride in his yard. Always bags of vegetables for family members and friends.They made the newspaper more than a few times on just their display for the holidays with lights. When they were not outside in the garden, he loved watching sports GO PACKERS!

Mathew and Myrna never had children together but they did have cats to keep them busy and company. Feeding stray cats and always having 2 inside, if you went to visit them, he always had one on his lap.

He is survived by his loving wife Myrna, his step children Elaine (Larry) Howell, Charles Nicks, Charlet Nicks (Shawn) his children David (Janet) Lomas, Bernice (Joel) Lund, John (Deb) Lomas, Lisa Mueller, his sister Harriet Heisz, a sister-in-law Mary Lomas, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother and Father Brothers, Frank, Harold, Paul, Gene (Jake), Ralph (Stub), infant Brother James, Earl, Kenny (Duke) Lomas and sisters Beatrice Ruosch and Peggy Lomas, a step daughter Ellen Rumppe.

Matt did not want a service so there will be a small family only service at a later date.
