Michael “Mike” John Gleason age 66, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on February 16th at 9:20 a.m. at Mayo Health System.

He was born on February 8th to Richard and Lois Gleason in La Crosse, WI. He married Debra Burch on July 9th in Caledonia, MN.

Mike could never sit still and always had to be doing something even in his final days. He was a handy man always trying to fix something, for his wife, his children, or even his grandchildren. In his younger days he loved to play softball, football, and run cross country. He also loved to go hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved the outdoors and could be seen with his chicken bones outside doing something. He loved music, him and his wife could be seen most weekends doing karaoke and singing up a storm.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years. His two sisters, Deborah (Jer) Volkert, Carol Hedtke, and his brother Rick (Kathie) Gleason. His three children, Tasha (Bob) Trautman, Allen (Holly) Gleason, Michaela (Chuck) Thomas. His 7 grandchildren that he loved dearly and spoiled them any chance he could. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He loved all his family and was a big family man.

Mike is preceded in death by both his parents, Richard, and Lois Gleason. His older brother Patrick, and his infant sister Jean Marie.

We want to thank the staff at Mayo Health System and Mayo Palliative Care.

A celebration of life will be held at The Vault, 100 E Rock St, Rockland, WI 54653 from noon to 4 p.m. on April 13th, 2024.

Mike was one of the best. Always nice to everyone. We worked together years ago and it was fun running into him and Deb when they’d host karaoke after. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
