Neil Brand Hopper Sr
Neil Brand Hopper SR, age 75, Viroqua. Passed Dec 28,2022. He was born 9/3/47 to Harry and Mary Hopper. He married Carole 8/2/2004 at Otwell, IN
Neil started working with machinery at a very young age. He became a skilled mechanic and spent most of his life driving or repairing everything from race cars to semi trucks. He owned his own repair shop when he lived in Otwell IN. He also was a volunteer ambulance and fire truck driver. After retiring he took up woodworking and enjoyed making gifts for friends and family. He also enjoyed writing poetry about whatever came to mind just about every day. He was active in community events and his church.
He is survived by his wife– Carole Hopper; children— Neil Hopper Jr., Theresa Burch, Mike Hopper, Keith Hopper, and Kimberly Hopper. and 9 Grandchildren; Siblings Mike Hopper, Tom Hopper, Linda Goodman, Mary Ellen Edgerton, Amy Hogreve, Angela Lutz. Theodore Lutz and Sheila Volz.
He is receded in death by his wife– Charlotte Bourgard married 39 years; parents—Harry & Mary Hopper.; siblings—Jim Hopper, Diane Reed, David Hopper, Sally Hopper.
In Lieu of flowers memorials to New Life Christian Church
His memorial service will be held on Jan 7 at 12 noon at New Life Christian Church, 834 N. Main St., Viroqua with reception held after.
I have alot of memories of Neil.He is in a better place now.He was a man of strong opinions.He lived a full life and touched everyone he knew.He spent his life as a mechanic and husband.Was married to his first wife Charlotte until her death they raised five children who still survive.Neil will be missed.He leaves the world a better place
You have my deepest sympathy on the passing of Neil. He was a great employee for our company at La Crosse Truck Center and was loved by customers and employees alike. My deepest sympathy for the loss of this kind and generous man!
