Nelma June Brown
Nelma June Brown age 87 of La Crosse passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023 at home. She was born on December 12, 1935 to Gladys Fox and Louie Babcock. She married Delmar Brown on Sept. 25, 1954 in Corydon, Indiana.
Nelma enjoyed playing Euchre Mondays at the Moose Lodge and Thursday at the Onalaska American Legion; she never tried to miss out on a game if she could help it.
Along with bowling on the off days and winters being a snowbird in Arizona. Shuffle boarding and logger games were a side hobby for Nelma, anything to keep busy besides family get-togethers.
She is survived by Donna (Dan) Worthington, David Brown, Rita (Bennie) Hodges, Ricky Brown, and 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings.
The family would like to thank the hospice team and in lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Gundersen Hospice.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Fond memories of Nelma and Delmar at Fish Lake. A nice couple to have as neighbors.
So sorry to hear of Nelmas passing she was one of my favorite customers always had good conversations. Now she joins Delmar whom she missed dearly
I am so sorry to hear about Nelma, but I know that she was ready. Nelma was such a delightful lady, with a quick sense of humor. I always enjoyed playing cards with her. I am thinking of all of you, while you are dealing with your grief. Nelma was a special lady! I will miss her.
My sympathy to you all. Nelma and Delmar were special people. I worked with them at WWTI (WTC) many years ago. They could always make me smile.
