Norma I. Schumacher
Norma Schumacher passed away on July 21, 2022. Norma was born on February 22, 1933 in the town of Glendale, Monroe County to August and Blanche Wiesphennig. Norma was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Glendale Township, Monroe County, Wisconsin. She graduated from Royal High School in Elroy.
She worked at the former Erickson Bakery, Auto Lite, and Shopko for over 20 years. After retiring, she worked for the city of La Crosse at the voting polls, doing product demonstration, and at Festival Foods for 10 years, retiring again at age 84.
Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She served on the council, as a Sunday School teacher, secretary of church women, mission circle, mobile meals and various other activities.
Norma married Walter Schumacher on July 12, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in law George and Ella Schumacher, son-in-law Mike Maney, brother in-law Warren, brother and sister-in-laws Maynard (Shirley), Ronnie (Kathy), and sister-in-law Maime Haskins.
She is survived by three children. Karen Maney, Eagan, MN, Janet Bahr, La Crosse, and Steve Schumacher, La Crosse. Her grandchildren Stephanie Maney, Eagan, MN, Kristine Bahr, La Crosse, and Karen Slack (Jon Bice), La Crosse, and Tiffany Cornell, West Salem. Great grandchildren Addie Slack, Ella Bice, Colton and Carter LeMoine, and Cooper Haugland.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in law George and Mary Jo Schumacher, sister-in law Arbutus Schumacher, as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Norma loved family gatherings, family reunions, playing cards, traveling, and the Red Hats.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.

Sorry for your loss. We lost another mom from the old neighborhood. She was always a busy and happy lady. A great mom and always a smile on her face.
I was a long-time neighbor of Norma, Walt and the kids. I babysat Karen, Janet and Steve.
Norma was a lovely lady, always very pleasant. Quite often Norma would visit my elderly mother, bringing her goodies and a poinsettias for Christmas.
Rest in peace, Norma. You will be missed by many.

Our hearts are with you all. Norma was always so kind and always smiling. I liked bumping into her along the trail by Eagle Crest. She had a favorite blue picnic table.

Steve. Deepest sympathy to you. As you know, I knew your mom from the Shopko days and after. Wonderful and caring lady. Won’t be able to be at her funeral as we are out of town but prayers coming your way.

I new Norma Shopko days for many, many years. She was a great person and greeted every one she saw. Always concerned about others. The angels received a beautiful soul. Rest In Peace. Condolences to the family.

So sorry for your loss norma was an amazing woman full of jokes and laughter I always loved working with her at eagle crest south she was an amazing person to be around every time u were having a bad day all I needed to do was go and see norma and my day was 10% times better

Norma was a great person, We always sat near her and Walter at Trinity. She always asked about our kids and their activities. She was a caring and beautiful person. She will be missed.
