Patrick Gerald Lueck

May 29, 2020 | 7 comments

Patrick Gerald Lueck, age 63, of La Crosse and Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday
May 27, 2020 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta, Wisconsin. Pat was born on February 3, 1957 to
Gerald & Vivian (Konter) Lueck. Pat attended Sparta High School. Pat married Nina Long in 1977 and
they later divorced.
We often joked about Patrick having 9 lives as he overcame so many medical emergencies. He was one
tough guy. Patrick loved playing pool, gardening, farming, and Jalapeno peppers! There was always that
one special request, that as much as we wanted to, we couldn’t make happen. Patrick grew up farming
and up until his last days dreamed of being out in the fields on a tractor again.
Overcoming a traumatic childhood, Pat grew up to be a strong resilient man. He was always an
ambitious hard worker. After becoming disabled due to a traumatic brain injury in high school, Pat was
able to recover to the extent that he was able to work. He valued his relationships with his Foundry,
La Crosse Footwear, ORC, Riverfront and other co-workers.
Patrick is survived by Daughters- Amber (Nathan) Semb and Jennifer (Mark) Stenberg; Sisters- Judy
(Richard) Jackson, Jean (Dan Ferries) Lunde, Lyn (Rick) Koller, and Nikki (Steve) Oesterle; Stepsiblings-
Mike (Mary) Antony, Mischelle Markin, Teri (Roger) Kendhammer, Nick (Cindy Puent) Dunnum, and
Scott (Amy) Dunnum.
Patrick was preceded in death by infant son Ryan Patrick Lueck, brother- Ron Lueck, mother and
stepfather- Vivian and Nick Antony, father- Gerald Lueck, Significant other- Jean Doucette, Brother-in-
laws- Lester Orawiec and Steve Lunde.
A very special thank you to Rolling Hills family for the kindness, loving care and friendship Pat was
blessed to receive. We would also like to thank the Gundersen Dialysis team and Dr. Metz for providing
excellent care. Great appreciation to Pine Creek for going above and beyond while providing
transportation to medical appointments. Thank you to his Inclusa team for all their help.
Respecting Patrick’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be scattered by family at a
future date.

Condolences

Sending prayers of comfort and peace to Pat’s family. We all grew up together on farms and attended Leon school. Those were good times and traumatic times. We are stronger because of them. Rest in the arms of our Lord Jesus.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pat or “troublemaker” was hilarious and always picking on me at dialysis. I was his RN and would stay late to keep him company at the hospital when his catheter/fistula caused him problems. He would always joke of getting high….he was an amazing guy. I will miss this great guy.

Sending sympathy for your loss. Remembering my former neighbor (lived a mile away) growing up and riding the same school bus; the time there was a fire and their house burned down. Pat drove tractor and worked hard on the farm at a very young age. My last memory of young Pat is that he played cornet for a time in the school band.
We got to renew acquaintance at Rolling Hills and shared peanut butter cookies. Will miss his easy-going smile.
