I have not spoken to Paul in many years, but had the pleasure of knowing him when he was healthy and physically able to lead a normal life. He was like a dad to me for a few years and I appreciate his kindness. He had a laugh that will always be unforgettable to me. His laugh cracked me up. There is no one out there that could replace him. He really had a caring heart and wore his heart on his sleeve. He wasn’t ashamed of crying when the moment struck and I appreciate the care he had for people and animals. He is a legend and I wont forget him.

Paul, you have been set free from the pain and I will miss you until we meet again!

I found this poem and it reminded me of you.

When I come to the end of the day and the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love we once shared – miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Maker’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds –
miss me but let me go.

You had the biggest heart I’ve ever known. You would help out anyone who needed it. Thank you for being my friend for the last 18 years.
    ~love, Me
