Paula Jean Hammes, 73, of Brice Prairie, passed away March 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 9, 1953. Paula was the fourth born out of ten to Jack and Dorothy (Olson) Daily.

Paula was a kindhearted person and was always there to give anyone support and guidance.  She was very honest and trustworthy and if anyone would go to her with a problem she would keep it to herself.  She probably carried around a lot of good secrets.

Paula was part of Holmen High School class of 1971.  She held a bond with a special group of ladies. They called themselves the Chicks.  Paula retired young from Coulee Bank where she was a loan officer.  She planned on enjoying retirement with her husband Steve but sadly he passed.

Paula found her true love when she met her husband, Steve.  They married on December 28, 1992, in Las Vegas.

Paula loved her family, especially her children and all of her grandchildren.

Paula is survived by her son, Troy Wing, stepchildren Kim (Tim) Sires, and Adam Hammes; grandchildren, Christopher Wing, Alex Wing, Kasey Wing, Aryiah Wing, Arynn Wing, Caden Sires, Stella Sires, and Jerome Hammes.  Siblings, Ginny Gibbons, Judy (Scott) Lee, Steve (Carol) Daily, John (Bambi) Daily, Mike Daily, Kelly (Gopper) Krause, Tracy (Bruce) Wavra, Susan Daily, and Lynne Proksch.  Many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Steve Hammes, daughter, Michelle Wing, sister, Kerry Daily-Pierce, nieces, Samantha and Lacey Daily.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10 am, at Coulee Region Cremation Group, followed by a memorial service at 11 am.  A private burial will be at a later date.  Please direct any memorials to the Brice Prairie First Responders.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Emplify Health Hospice Care, and the Brice Prairie First Responders.  You were both so caring and gentle.

To the Family of your dear Paula,

I was so deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Even though it’s been years since we’ve seen each other, I’ve often thought back on all the fun we shared—those countless sleepovers and the laughter that seemed to never end. She was such an important part of my middle and high school years, and those memories have always stayed close to my heart.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts. I can’t imagine how heavy this must feel, but I hope you’re surrounded by love and support as you move through this incredibly difficult time.

Wishing you comfort, strength, and moments of peace in the days ahead.

    With heartfelt sympathy,

    Debbie (Kenyon) Chesebro

My heartfelt condolences to the Daily family. I was deeply saddened to hear of Paul’s passing. Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of it until after the service today. Had I known, I would have been there to offer my support in person. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes out to Paula’s family as you mourn her passing. She was always so vibrant, smiley and full of life; exactly like the photo you chose. I cherish the memories of Jr High and High School sleep-overs, parties, games, dances, and double-dates. We didn’t connect often in later years, but when we did, it immediately felt like old times.

I’m sorry that I needed to be out of state during Paula’s service. Please know that you have my heartfelt condolences and prayers for your strength and comfort in the days ahead.
