Raymond Leroy Hasz
Raymond Leroy Hasz passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026.
Ray was born on November 1, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, to Carl and Evelyn Hasz. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from July 15, 1958, until July 14, 1961, including a tour of duty in Korea. He was honorably discharged following his service and then resided in La Crosse Wisconsin.
Ray was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life. He was employed by Schultz transit, Kujak transport inc, crx corporation, 3 rivers trucking and Lawrence transportation. He took pride in providing for his family and was respected for his strong work ethic.
Ray enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved driving, gardening, cutting firewood, fishing, and traveling. He found great joy in feeding birds and ducks. And believed that a bowl of chicken noodle soup could cure just about anything. Soup was always in the crockpot.
Ray had a nickname for nearly everyone he knew, and his playful teasing was one of the ways he showed his affection. Those who knew him understood that behind his sense of humor was a kind caring man who loved his family deeply
Ray is survived by his sons, Vince Hasz (Wanda), Lenny Hasz, daughters, Brenda Will (Randy), Chris Hasz, and Kim Hasz. Grandchildren, Heather, Nikki, Chad, Amanda, Malaka, Desi, Dakota, Brianna, and Kowen and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Emmett, Brooks, Hailey and RJ.
He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Darlene, his parents Carl and Evelyn Hasz, Brother Eddie, Daughter, Debbie and Great -Grandson, Levi
Ray will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, love of family, his quick wit and countless smiles he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St. Onalaska, friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service, military honors will be conducted by The Onalaska American Legion (Struck-Klandrud Post 336).
A private burial will take place at a later date.
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family with arrangements.
