Rhea Elaine Prieur, 93, of Onalaska, WI passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 14th at her home. She was born in Crawford County on June 12, 1928 to Charles and Stella (Uglum) Olson. She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior when she was eleven years old on February 12, 1939.

Rhea married Ramon F. Prieur on June 12, 1948. They celebrated over sixty-one years of marriage. God blessed them with seven children.

Rhea was known as “A Woman of Prayer”. She had a burden for all people that they too would know the Lord as their Savior. She served the Lord by serving other people. Her home was always open to others and gracious hospitality was always given. Rhea loved to cook. Her desserts were famous amongst the Christians who gathered at the Gospel Hall. We all told her that she should open her own bakery. Rhea’s love for beauty was expressed in her exquisite hand writing and her faithful feeding of her precious birds which would gather to sing to her on her deck each day.

Survivors include her children, Eunice (Chris) Christensen; Pamela (David) Eilertson; Rebecca (Cal) Erickson; Jacqueline (David) Osborne; Lawrence (Anita) Prieur; Lynette (Bee) Prieur-Lo; and special daughter Karen (Scott) Davis.  Grandchildren, Heidi (Spencer) Scott; Jeremy (Emily) Erickson; Shanna (Gary) Collins; Sarah (Tyler) Roach; Caleb (Kelsey) Erickson; and Laura Osborne. And ten great grandchildren. Sisters, Darlene Bunke; and Lois Martinmaki and sister-in-law Joyce Olson.

Rhea was proceeded in death by husband Ramon and her infant son, Ramon George; brother Howard Olson; sister Viola Hicke; brothers-in-law Stan Bunke,  Ron Martinmaki and Fritz Hicke. There are an additional six sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 18, from 5pm – 7pm at The Gospel Hall located at 1928 George St. in La Crosse. The Memorial Service is being held on Tuesday, Oct 19, from 3pm – 4pm at The Gathering Place at 133 Mason St. in Onalaska. Visitation will precede this service starting at 2pm. A luncheon will be held immediately after the Memorial Service at the Gospel Hall.

    Rhea was
A great, kind, loving sister, sometimes like a second Mother. She was an encourager and a Godly example. She will be missed by many but our comfort is that her life is now fulfilled, her body healed and she is in her Heavenly Home with her Savior and loved ones.

I met Rhea at the Sr. Center, Onalaska, and enjoyed talking to her. She was a very bright and lovely lady with a red ribbon or flower in her hair.

    Dear Loving Family of Rhea,

Sending warm sympathy in the Loss of your Dear Mother & Grandmother. We will miss her smiling face at the Assembly meetings and her warm care. May you be comforted with the special memories you each have of her, also knowing she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will all gather HOME in the morning, what a gathering that will be.
    Warmly,
    Charleen
