Richard “Dick” Walter Hansen

Richard “Dick” Walter Hansen, 91, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home in La Crosse with family at his side.

He was born December 6, 1932, in La Crosse to Walter and Judith Hansen. Richard married Marjorie J Kassera in Boscobel, Wisconsin on September 11, 1954. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2016.

Richard enjoyed many things in life, particularly trap shooting, spending time with family camping and fishing, and was an excellent foreman in his son and grandson’s workshop. He also shared many conversations with friends in local taverns.

He is survived by his brothers Jim Hansen and Don (Karen) Hansen, daughter Kathy (Karl) Tiedeman, son Thomas (Kristi) Hansen, grandson Alex Hansen, granddaughters Jessi Tiedeman and Kassera (Ethan) Lenertz.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie J Hansen, brother Jerry Hansen, and daughter Teri L Hansen.

The Hansen family would like to thank the Staff at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided to him, and the Northside friends who have taken care of him over the years.

A burial service with military honors will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park, La Crosse on March 22 at 11:00. All friends and family of Dick are welcome to attend.

    Sadden to hear of Dicks passing. Our thoughts and prayers will be with the family. We were neighbors to Dick and Marge on the north side .
    Special condolence to Tom and family. Tom was good friends with our son John through grade and high school.
