Richard “Rick” A. Valentine

Richard (Rick) A Valentine, 73, of La Crosse, WI passed away peacefully on Monday April 1st at his home surrounded by loving family. Rick was born on Oct 1st, 1950 to Robert and Betty (Thomas) Valentine in La Crosse, WI.

After graduating from Logan Sr. High School Rick worked at Trane Company as a Welder for 41 years, retiring on April 1st2011.

Rick married the love of his life, Ellen (Neary) Valentine, on Feb 21st, 1969. Together they had 4 children.

Rick enjoyed crossword puzzles, trap shooting, riding his motorcycle, participating in demolition derbies, camping, and enjoying a nice cold Bud Light with friends. Anyone who knew Rick would never even think about calling at 4:30 while Jeopardy was on TV.

Rick is survived by daughter, Teri Valentine, sons, Todd and Thomas Valentine, and bonus daughter, Dede (Wayne) Hudson. Grandchildren, Branden Shannon, Lexis (Joe) Shannon, Jordan Valentine, Eva, Ivan and Ivy Valentine, Blake Woolard and Nick Valentine, great grandson, Hayes Fisk, as well as many extended family members.

He was proceeded in death by both parents, his wife, Ellen Valentine, Son, Timothy Valentine, granddaughter, Storm Holmes, grandson, Avery Valentine, brother, Robert Valentine and sister, Shelly Valentine.

The Family would like to thank the 6th floor staff at Gunderson Hospital and the entire team at St. Criox Hospice for their support.

Please join us in remembering Rick on Friday April 19th from 4 – 6pm at The Gathering Place 133 Mason St, Onalaska, WI 54650.

A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

    I’m so sorry Teri, I sure am going to miss your Dad. I will never forget our visits, sharing a meal with him and just talking.
