Rodney A. Davis

Rod Davis, 71, of La Crosse, passed away November 24, 2021 at Gundersen Health System in  La Crosse.  He was born on May 22, 1950 to Curt and Lucy Davis.

He married Mary Fitzpatrick on June 29, 1985 in La Crosse.  They were married for 36 years and had a very special love for each other.

Rodney was an avid trout fisherman, loved deer hunting, gardening, and spending time with his golden retrievers throughout the years.

Rod worked at Paper Calmenson  for 38 years as a steel worker prior to retirement.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; siblings, Terri (Bob) Speer, Becky (Mike) Grosskopf, Lori (Steve) Stellick, Luanne Ambuehl, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents; his maternal and paternal grandparents, brother, Lonny and nephew Tommy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    To my best buddy. And true friend.you are at peace now. Always looked forward to our dinners with Rod and you when I would get back to La Crosse. Now am 2000 miles away. Still remember the hunting trips with you.The photo brings back many good memories of you. Will be at the celebration of life.again you are at peace now. The bear.

    So sorry Mary. Rod was such a hard working man and always so fun loving. He loved you and all his doggies over the years so much! He suffered so much these past few years and you did so good taking care of him for so long. He would have stayed to be with you if he could have. He didn’t get nearly enough time. We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss him and will keep you in our prayers. ❤

      Mary, I am so sorry to hear of Rod’s passing. I have so many memories of all the fun times we had together. Of course nothing could ever top the “shirt pocket hole in one” I still laugh thinking about it. Rod had a big heart, that’s for sure and I’ll always remember his smile and laugh.
