Rolf Walter Bruhn, 77 of Holmen, formerly of Sheboygan and Waukesha, Wisconsin, and New Port Richey, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home.  He was born June 26, 1941 in Rendsburg, Germany to Walter H. and Anna {Griwodz} Bruhn. On September 13, 1975, he married Mary Lou Blum.

Rolf is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Bruhn of Holmen; his children, Scott W. Bruhn of Orange City, Florida, Kristina L. Murphy of Holmen, and Rolf C. Bruhn of Minneapolis; step-children, Jim (Wanda) Hicks of Texas and John Hicks of California; grandchildren, Alex, Zak, Mallory, Sarah, Noah, and Micah; great-grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Carson, Keven, and Lizzie; siblings, Heinz (Maddy) Bruhn of Racine; nephew, David (Sheri) Bruhn of California and niece, Tammy (Carl) Laux of Wisconsin; as well as many other loving friends and relatives all over the world.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Murphy and his Aunt Marie “Tante Mechan”.

Rolf completed his Journeyman Craftsman Apprenticeship with MATC as a lithographer and then stayed in that field of work until his retirement.  Most notably at Eldorado Graphics in New Berlin, S & M Rotogravure in New Berlin, and Mueller Color Plate in Milwaukee. He was a member of the Lithographers and Photoengravers International union.  Rolf proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordinaceman third class 1958-1962 stationed on Naval Carrier Coral Sea.

Rolf was a hardworking man all his life and a good provider for his family. The highlight of his career was always the four years he spent in the Navy.  He was very fit and stayed active most of his life by running, biking, cross country skiing, and various other activities.  Even riding his stationary bike on the day he died. He also enjoyed driving in his Miata sports car and painting pictures of his beloved Florida.

Because Rolf lived in various places throughout his life, his family and friends are spread all over the world.  Therefore, there won’t be an official service. In lieu of flowers or gifts his family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.  He will be buried with his parents in Racine, Wisconsin in the summer.  Coulee Region Cremation Group, Onalaska, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Condolences
