Sandra “Sandy” Stauffer

Sandra “Sandy” Stauffer, 84, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 6, 1938, in La Crosse to Melford and Margaret Johnson.  She married Richard Stauffer on December 8, 1956, at Onalaska Lutheran Church.

Sandra loved raising her family and enjoyed her time working at G. Heileman Brewery before retiring to Naples, Florida.  In 2012 they moved back to La Crosse to be with family.

Sandra is survived by her children, Susan (Duke) Temp, Robert (Charlotte) Stauffer, Linda (Brian) Fluekiger, and foster daughter Resa Silha; grandchildren Ian (Devon) Stauffer, Jessica (Bryant) Davidson, and Lauren (Nick Benoy) Stauffer; and great-grandchildren Lilah and Emerson Stauffer, and Elizabeth Davidson; her sisters, Shirley (John) Solie and Jayne Wells, and her brothers, Mike (Judy) Johnson and David (Jan) Johnson; and her special cat, Kitty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard “Dick” Stauffer; and her son Kent in 1970.  The family wishes to extend a thank you to the Mayo Hospice staff and her loving caregiver and companion, Liberty Wright.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 at North Presbyterian Church, 1327 North Salem Road, La Crosse, WI, 54603, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Pastor Scott Skogen will be officiating the service.

    It was so great to get to know Sandy ,in our short, hair appointments.It’s funny how you get to know someone and even about their past life and their families, just by chatting.Sandy had a funny personality about her.Our weekly visits will be missed.I could see she was getting tired.No more pains… Sandy.God Bless!
