Shirley Mae Pettygrove, 63 of La Crosse, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born December 4, 1955 in La Crosse to Harold and Maureen {Bernd} Gunderson.  On May 20, 2006, she married Clyde Pettygrove.  He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Darlene (Nicholas) Wrobel Popoutsis of West Salem, Vincent (Kelly) Wrobel of La Crosse, Curt (Darci) Greeno of Barre Mills, and Jennifer Greeno of La Cresent; grandchildren, Aspen and Cameron Popoutsis, Jacob Fry, Leddi, Brody, Isaac, Cora, and Rory Greeno, and Rylee Weber; her siblings, Debbie Tyler of La Crosse, Ginger (Frank) Van Houten of Oxford, Dan (Becky) Gunderson of Chippewa Falls, Doug (Sharri) Gunderson of La Crosse, and Cindi (Deak) Swanson of Holmen; as well as many other relatives and loving friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents and Aunt Bev and Uncle Rich Page.

Shirley enjoyed playing cards and bowling.  She had fun fishing and playing Bingo.  She loved making memories with her family while camping and it was always a good time when they could all get together.  Shirley’s laugh was infectious, once she started the whole room would start laughing.  She had a quick wit and a comeback for everything.  She had a really big giving and loving heart.  Her presence will be one that is noticeably gone from the room.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 12:00 PM in the Prairie Room at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Street, Onalaska. Pastor Andrew Schultz will officiate. She will be laid to rest at a later date.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the family to help offset current medical bills.  Online condolences can be left atwww.couleecremation.com.
