Thomas A. Baumgartner
Thomas A. Baumgartner left us today, July 1, 2022 to be reunited with the love of his life Betty.
He was born September 9, 1929 on French Island to Fred and Ruth (Mercier) Baumgartner. His childhood was spent on the family farm. After graduating from Logan High School he worked on the family farm which he later took over. On March 7, 1951 Tom married Betty Koenig. Shortly afterward they started a family together. His love of airplanes led him to obtain his pilots’ license. He and Betty attended too many fly-ins to count. Tom had a great love for automobiles. He restored numerous antique vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty of 70 years; his parents; brother, Fred; sister Jane Prucha; and granddaughter, Lorilie Thurston.
He is survived by his sons, Steven (Sharon), Thomas II (Paula), and Jerald (Angie); daughter, Susan (Al) Thurston; and 6 grandchildren, Brian Baumgartner, Ian Thurston, Moriah Thurston, Shane Baumgartner, Hannah Baumgartner, and Lance Baumgartner.
The family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice and Brightstar Care for their assistance. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. James the Less Catholic Church or The American Cancer Society

Steve…its hard to lose a parent at any time in life…it leaves such a hole in our heart. Hope you can rest now knowing how well you cared for him…your a kind son to have worked so hard to make his last days comfortable
