Timothy “Tim” D. Coyle
On Saturday August 8, 2026, Timothy D. Coyle passed away doing what he loved most, fishing with his wife Doris. Doris lost the “Captain of her ship.” Tim loved the outdoors. His grandfather, Harvey Neilson, was the first manager of the Trempeleau, WI refuge, where Tim spent his summers amongst nature and animals, where his love of hunting and fishing took root.
Tim and Dori enjoyed their numerous trips to their cabin in North Dakota, and traveled far and wide, exploring and having many adventures together in their 36-year marriage. He loved hunting with his dogs: Molly, Calli, and Bella, and when they weren’t out fetching ducks and pheasants together, they were cuddling on the couch. He loved music, a love he shared deeply with his son, Brock. They went to many concerts together as a family.
Tim was born on March 2, 1960, to Sharon Slimmen and Thomas Coyle. People who knew Tim loved him. He had a great sense of humor and was often the life of the party. He had an eye for detail, reflected in his long career as a steel worker and in his art. He could draw. He could build things, and he was a fierce competitor for anyone fated to play against him in a pool tournament. Most of all, he was a devoted father, brother, and son. His family, friends, and his pets especially were his world.
Tim is survived by his wife, Doris (Nelson) Coyle, their son; Brock D. Coyle, his son Nathan Wakeen, his mother Sharon Slimmen, his siblings: Kevin Slimmen and David Rhodes.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Coyle and his brother, John Michael Rhodes.
There will be a celebration of life/open house on Saturday August 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at N8985 Moen Rd. Holmen WI 54636
Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew Tim almost my whole life. He was a great “big brother” when most boys his age wouldn’t have bothered with a little neighbor girl. Every time I saw him as an adult was like a reunion.
My sincere sympathy goes out to his family. He will be missed. The world isn’t quite the same without him in it.

I never got to know Tim to much, but every time I would see him at a pool venue my first thought when I saw him, especially his smile was I really like that guy!!
