Vernon B. Halverson
Vernon B. Halverson, 93, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 at Lakeview Nursing Home in La Crosse WI .
He was born on January 2, 1933 to Vernon and Stella_(Peterson) Halverson. He married Phyllis Novacek on September 28, 1957 at St Josephs Cathedral Church in La Crosse.
Vernon served in the US Marine Corps, and retired from Trane Company where he worked for 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and bowling. He traveled to Milwaukee and Minneapolis often to watch baseball games with his wife and children. He was also a huge Packer fan. We all loved and will always remember his sarcastic sense of humor. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Above all he loved his wife Phyllis of 68 years.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Halverson, son Mark Halverson, daughters Jane (Dan) Mohr and Jill Halverson, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Stella Halverson, step-dad, Otto Grimslid, and sister Jeanine (James) Hardie.
There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
